This page sets out the guarantee we give on PlusLife Health saunas supplied in the United Kingdom, how to look after your sauna, and how to make a claim.
Our warranty is supplied by Wellness Technology Australia Pty Ltd (ACN 661 558 229), trading as PlusLife Health, Suite 806, 35-45 Spring Street, Bondi Junction NSW 2022, Australia.
1. Your legal rights
Our warranty is in addition to your legal rights. Nothing on this page affects them.
Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, goods we supply must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described. If they are not:
- you can reject them within 30 days of delivery and get a full refund;
- after that, you can ask us to repair or replace them, free of charge, within a reasonable time;
- if a repair or replacement does not resolve the fault, you can claim a price reduction or reject the goods.
This section applies to consumers. If you bought in the course of a business, your rights are set out in our Commercial Terms of Service.
2. Who and what is covered
2.1 This warranty covers the original purchaser, from the date of delivery, for saunas delivered to and used in the United Kingdom.
2.2 It is transferable with our written consent, which we will not unreasonably withhold.
2.3 This page sets out residential cover. Commercial warranty periods are shorter and are set out in Schedule 2 of our Commercial Terms of Service.
3. Warranty periods
| Component | Residential | Commercial |
|---|---|---|
| Interior and exterior timber cabin: Outdoor Mini 2.0, Outdoor Max 2.0, Meridian Barrel | 5 years | 2 years |
| Interior and exterior timber cabin: Cove Barrel | 2 years | 2 years |
| Interior and exterior timber cabin: all other models | 12 months | 12 months |
| Bitumen roof shingles | 12 months | 12 months |
| LED strip lighting | 12 months | 12 months |
| Harvia electrical components | 12 months | 12 months |
| Harvia heating element | 12 months | 6 months |
3.2 Where we replace a part under this warranty, the replacement is covered for the remainder of the original period or six months from the date of replacement, whichever is longer.
3.3 Timber cover is conditional on the oiling schedule in section 5 being maintained.
4. What we will do
4.1 If your sauna develops a fault covered by this warranty, we will repair it or replace the affected component.
4.2 Where you are entitled to a repair or a replacement, you can choose which. We will only decline your choice if it is impossible, or if it costs us disproportionately more than the alternative, and we will explain why if so.
4.3 Where the fault is one we are responsible for, you will not pay for parts, labour, carriage or call-out.
4.4 Depending on the fault, we will either send an engineer to you or send a replacement part with fitting instructions. We will tell you which and arrange it.
4.5 If a sauna cannot be economically repaired we will discuss the options with you, which may include a replacement or a refund.
5. Looking after your sauna
Keeping up the maintenance below is what keeps your sauna in good condition and is a condition of this warranty. We are not responsible for damage caused by a failure to carry it out. This does not affect cover for faults unconnected with maintenance.
| Task | Frequency |
|---|---|
| Oil exterior timber | Every 12 months |
| Sweep and wipe down benches and floor | After use |
| Check ventilation inlet and outlet are clear | Monthly |
| Inspect heater, guard and control panel for damage | Monthly |
| Inspect sauna stones, replace as recommended in your manual | Every 6 months |
| Run heater at least 40 minutes before applying water to stones | Every use |
Use a towel on benches. It keeps the timber in better condition and makes the cabin easier to clean.
Apply water to the stones from the ladle supplied, in small amounts. Do not pour large volumes, and do not apply anything other than water.
5.1 Outdoor saunas
Exterior timber needs oiling every 12 months in the UK climate, and sooner on an exposed or south facing elevation if you can see the finish fading. Check the roof shingles annually and clear debris from the roof and from around the base.
5.2 Recommended maintenance products
We stock timber oil, sealer and cleaning products suited to our cabins. You can find them in our Maintenance Products collection. Products not intended for sauna use can leave residues that vaporise at sauna temperatures, and damage caused this way is not covered.
6. Assembly, installation and electrical work
6.1 We do not carry out sauna assembly or electrical installation unless we have quoted for it separately and in writing.
6.2 Sauna installation is notifiable electrical work in the UK. It must be carried out by an electrician registered with a competent person scheme such as NICEIC or NAPIT, working to BS 7671 and Part P of the Building Regulations 2010. Keep the certificate.
6.3 If a fault turns out to have been caused by assembly or electrical work that we did not carry out or arrange, that is not something we are responsible for, and you will need to take it up with whoever did the work. Where we arranged the installation, we are responsible for it.
6.4 We may recommend installers and electricians. A recommendation is not an endorsement and the contract for that work is between you and them.
7. What this warranty does not cover
- Normal wear and tear.
- Natural characteristics of timber, including variation in grain, colour and knots, and minor movement, splitting or checking as timber responds to moisture and temperature.
- Damage caused by accident, misuse or neglect, or by failure to follow the instructions supplied.
- Damage caused by a failure to carry out the maintenance in section 5, including timber deterioration where the oiling schedule has not been kept up.
- Damage caused by improper storage, including leaving a crate exposed to weather before installation. Our crates are not waterproof.
- Damage caused by assembly or electrical installation not carried out or arranged by us.
- Damage caused by moving the sauna after it has been installed.
- Damage caused by unauthorised repairs or modifications.
- Damage caused by items placed on or near the heater.
- Damage caused by excessive or repeated application of water to the stones, or by applying anything other than water.
- Damage caused by inadequate ventilation, or by obstructing the ventilation inlet or outlet.
- Consumables, including sauna stones and light bulbs.
8. Registering your sauna
Please register your sauna within 30 days of installation and send us a photograph of the completed installation. It helps us support you faster and keeps your service record straight. Your legal rights do not depend on registering.
9. Making a claim
9.1 Contact us first
Email support@pluslifehealth.co.uk or call +44 7378 470969 with your order number, the serial number and a description of the fault.
9.2 Remote diagnostics
Before we arrange an engineer visit we will ask you to help us diagnose the fault remotely. That normally means photographs or video showing the heater, the control panel, any error codes and the area of the cabin concerned, and answering some questions.
Most faults are resolved at this stage, and it is much faster for you than waiting for a visit. Please help us with this step so we can get you running again quickly.
9.3 Repair
If the fault cannot be resolved remotely, we will arrange a repair. Depending on the fault we will either send an engineer to you or send a replacement part with fitting instructions. Where the fault is covered, we arrange and pay for this.
9.4 Access
If we arrange a visit, please make sure there is safe and unobstructed access to the sauna, that an adult over 18 is present during the appointment window, and that the cabin is in a position an engineer can work on.
10. Repairs outside warranty
Where a repair is not covered by this warranty, we can still help. We will give you a written quotation before any work starts and we will not proceed without your approval.
11. Third party repairs
Please do not engage a third party technician to work on your sauna without speaking to us first. Unauthorised repairs or modifications will invalidate this warranty in respect of any damage they cause, and can make a fault harder for us to diagnose. This does not affect your legal rights.
12. Limit of this warranty
12.1 Nothing on this page limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, for defective products under the Consumer Protection Act 1987, or for any other liability that cannot be limited or excluded by law.
12.2 Subject to 12.1, our liability under this warranty is limited to repairing or replacing the sauna or the affected component, and does not extend to indirect or consequential loss. This does not affect your legal rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, set out in section 1.
13. Trade and stockist customers
13.1 Where you have bought through a PlusLife Health stockist or distributor, your contract is with them and you should contact them about support, returns and warranty claims in the first instance.
13.2 This warranty remains available to you as the end user, on the terms set out on this page.
